Project Overview
"Crystal Legends" is a visually stunning mobile puzzle RPG with hand-painted characters and magical effects. Our team created an enchanting art style with fluid animations and an intuitive interface designed specifically for touch-based interaction, resulting in an engaging and accessible gaming experience.
The Challenge
The client needed a mobile RPG that could stand out in a crowded marketplace while appealing to both casual and hardcore gamers. This required creating a visual identity that was both distinctive and approachable, along with a user interface that could communicate complex game systems without overwhelming new players. Additionally, all visuals needed to perform well across a wide range of mobile devices.
Our Approach
We began with a comprehensive analysis of successful mobile RPGs, identifying both visual and usability patterns that resonated with players. Our artists developed a hand-painted art style that combined watercolor textures with vibrant colors and stylized characters, creating a look that was both magical and approachable.
For the UI/UX design, we implemented a progressive disclosure approach, introducing game mechanics gradually while keeping the interface clean and intuitive. Our team conducted extensive usability testing to ensure that interactions felt natural on touch devices, with particular attention to one-handed play and varying screen sizes.
